Take the plunge"

「Take the plunge」

********************
Justin: Hi, Serena. It’s been a long time. When did you come back?
Serena: Last night. How have you been?
Justin: I’ve been good. So, you are now working in Spain, right?
Serena: I am. It’s been already 3 years since I started working there.
Justin: I didn’t know that you speak Spanish.
Serena: I started learning it after I graduated from a college.
Justin: Is that so? I’m just proud of you that you are working abroad. That’s so cool.
Serena: It’s not that a big deal. You can do the same if you want.
Justin: I doubt that. I always wish I could step out of this small town and see the world, but here I am; sadly, I feel comfortable to serve coffee in this cafe.
Serena: If you have ever felt that you want to do something, you should give it a try. You never know what results will be, but the only way to find it out is taking the plunge, and you may find something you never expected.
Justin: I wish I could have such a courage.
********************

「If you have ever felt that you want to do something, you should give it a try. You never know what results will be, but the only way to find it out is taking the plunge, and you may find something you never expected.」

「Take the plunge」
Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary
“To decide to do something important or difficult, especially after thinking about it for a long time”
